When will my order arrive?
We complete each hat purchase in the order it is received. We typically will get your hat shaped and ready to ship within 3-5 business days, plus shipping. Shipping time will depend on the destination (generally 3-5 business days.) Expedited shipping available upon request for an additional cost.
What is The Best Hat Store’s Return Policy?
We want you to be completely happy with your purchase. If for any reason you are not satisfied, we will gladly accept your return within 30 days of unworn, or defective merchandise. Please note: if merchandise has been altered or distressed from its original form, we are unable to accept a return. Returned merchandise should include the vendor packaging and tags and be in the same condition as when it was purchased. Used merchandise cannot be returned.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, Apply Pay, Google Wallet, and all major credit and debit cards. We do not accept checks.
Do you accept international orders?
Yes, we accept international orders on a case-by-case basis. Please understand that there may be a delay on international orders when we have to process the shipment through Imports/Exports.

Are hat costs included in events?
No, hat costs are not included in event fees. Straw hats average $220, and felt hats start at $500.

How do I determine my hat size?
Can I get an American Hat Company Hat refurbished?
American Hat Company hats are built to last — and when it’s time, we can refurbish select 40X and higher felt hats with a new silk liner, fresh sweatband, and a complete felt refinish to keep yours looking its best. In the renovation process, they can adjust larger or smaller by one size. How should I store my American Hat?
- We recommend free hanging your hat on a hat hook.
- If placing on a shelf, always remember to have the front brim placed off the shelf to prevent your brim from flattening.
- If you are storing your hat in the American Hat box, we recommend cedar blocks to prevent moths.
